6 of My Favorite Wedding Venues in Southeast Wisconsin

If you’re looking for a low key wedding vibe with tons of space to have fun with your friends and family on your wedding day, a wedding venue in Wisconsin may be the PERFECT spot for you to plan your wedding.  Wisconsin has so many different styles of wedding venues that it can be hard (practically impossible if we’re being honest), to go through them all, which is why I’m limiting myself to talk about my favorites in the southeastern part of the state today! Let’s check out 6 of my favorites to give you a glimpse into what this part of Wisconsin has to offer!

Why book a Wedding in Southeastern Wisconsin?

One thing I love about southeastern Wisconsin aside from the incredible wedding venues we’re about to take a look at is that so many of them are within a half hour from Lake Michigan. “Lauren why does that matter though?” I’m glad you asked! Being near the lake for your wedding day is great for both you and the guests of your wedding. First, it means that you’re able to have some of your portraits done with the lake as your backdrop, which is always incredible. You of course will have to schedule some travel time for your day depending on where your venue is located.

The other reason this is great for your wedding is it gives your guests a reason to make a weekend out of your wedding celebrations. Rather than come to your wedding and head home directly after, your guests will be more inclined to book a stay near the lake and make a family getaway out of the weekend. There are so many places to stay and things to do at the towns around Lake Michigan, which can take your wedding from a single day to a full weekend experience!

6 Wedding Venues in Southeastern Wisconsin

First on our list of venues is Bluestem Farm & Events. Technically this venue is in Illinois, but it’s right on the Wisconsin border and is so incredible that I just HAD to include it! I will hype this wedding venue again and again.  Bluestem Farms takes such good care of their couples and only books one wedding a weekend so that you have access to their property Friday, Saturday and Sunday for your wedding.  Many couples use the space Friday for setup and their rehearsal dinner, have their wedding ceremony and reception Saturday, which leaves Sunday as a relaxing day for you to take your time cleaning the space and reminiscing on the weekend!

The venue has seating for up to 180 guests, a private rental home you can add on for you and up to 18 guests to stay at, multiple getting ready spaces on site, and SO many amenities! A few more perks they offer is set up and take down of chairs and tables, vintage décor rentals, and a preferred vendor list of vendors they love working with. There really is SO much to love about Bluestem Farm & Events that I could write an entire article just about this wedding venue, but we have a lot more to look at in southeastern Wisconsin.

This blank slate southeastern Wisconsin wedding venue is in the heart of downtown Kenosha. This venue is the perfect location for couples who want to provide a high end experience for their guests along with custom touches to the décor to fit their own vision.  Within blocks of Lake Michigan, there are SO many beautiful photo locations and unique experiences for guests to explore if you have out of town guests!

Upper East allows you to have access to the wedding venue starting at 10am to use the on site ceremony and reception space along with the Bridal suite and luncheon space to get ready on site.  They also offer set up and take down of décor and an on-site venue coordinator and on site caterer. With space for up to 300 guests, and a plethora of amenities in addition to those I mentioned above, you should definitely keep Upper East on your list of potential wedding venues!

Located on the Twin Lakes Country Club, this covered outdoor pavilion serves as a beautiful outdoor venue for your wedding in Wisconsin.  The venue includes setup and takedown for your wedding, an indoor/outdoor pavilion, and a beautiful garden space for your outdoor ceremony.  There are also packages that include a professional wedding coordinator, an on-site caterer, and bar provided by the Twin Lakes Country Club. Being an outdoor wedding venue that also has a covered space for you and up to 250 of your guests to use and enjoy your day regardless of the weather is a HUGE bonus, and something that really sets the Red Barn apart!

This beautiful, historic wedding venue built in an old Kenosha theater offers a second floor balcony with a lounge, a private bridal suite, and space for up to 200 guests. With its location so close to the Kenosha waterfront and downtown there is PLENTY to do for guests within walking distance of the venue, including the Wyndham Garden Hotel!  This makes for the perfect spot for couples planning for guests from out of town and a unique experience for you and your guests. There’s more to the venue than its space and location though! Circa on Seventh has plenty to offer in terms of amenities and their incredible team. With setup and teardown assistance, an event specialist, on-site coordinator, and an on-site caterer, the venue is set to provide you with a one of a kind experience that’s both beautiful and stress free!

Located in the heart of downtown Burlington, WI, Mercantile Hall is a fun indoor/outdoor urban-style wedding venue.  Mercantile has the perfect mix of urban and industrial vibes, and plenty of amenities including their dressing suite, wooden folding chairs that perfectly match the vibe of the venue, both indoor and outdoor spaces for your wedding day festivities, and more!  One of my favorite things about Mercantile though is that they offer packages with an onsite coordinator to help you plan your dream wedding in their space, which goes a LONG way for your ease of mind! With seating for up to 220 guests, but spaces that also work for more intimate celebrations as well, this wedding venue is a must consider for your Wisconsin wedding day.

The Gathering Barn at Busy Barn Farm Adventures is such a fun and unique wedding venue in southeastern Wisconsin! The wide open space with PLENTY for guests to do is such a fun and beautiful spot for your summer wedding. With a petting zoo, corn pit, obstacle course, and more than 30 other activities to choose from, you and your guests will have no shortage of things to do on your wedding day! This is a dream come true wedding venue for any couple who knows that many of their guests will have young children in attendance with them. This gives the littles SO much to do on your wedding day while also letting you enjoy the rustic vibes and décor, private getting ready suites, and space for up to 450 guests to attend and celebrate your day!

There’s 6 of my favorite wedding venues in southeastern Wisconsin! As you can see just from this list alone there are a TON of different settings, styles, and vibes to choose from as you look for the ideal venue for your wedding day. It’s important then to keep in mind your priorities and your vision so that you find the venue that’s best for YOU!
