Timeless Summer Wedding at the Dekoven Center in Racine, WI | Heather + Brian

It is always such a wonderful feeling when I get to photograph the wedding day of two of my closest friends. Heather and Brian got married on an absolutely beautiful summer day here in Racine and Kenosha, Wisconsin, and I am so glad I got to be a part of it! From getting ready at The Stella Hotel, to the romantic ceremony at St James Catholic Church in Kenosha, all the way to the epic wedding reception and getaway car at DeKoven Center in Racine, this day was timeless from start to finish.

The day started with details of Heather’s pearl drop earrings and jewelry, her elegant A-line square neck dress, and a precious memorial photo bouquet charm. After the girls’ hair and makeup with Ruffolo’s Salon & Spa was complete, Heather popped into her dress and was off to her intimate first look with Brian before the start of the ceremony.

A Classic Wedding Ceremony at the St James Church in Kenosha

St. James Church is a PERFECT wedding ceremony venue here in Kenosha. The high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows add to the timeless and classic feel of their day. Heather was stunning walking down the aisle where Brian waited at the altar. They shared lots of hugs with their friends and family afterwards and popped outside for some quick photos before heading over to DeKoven Center in Racine for more couple and wedding party photos!

Wedding Day Portraits Outside the DeKoven Center in Racine, WI

A perk of having your wedding at the DeKoven Center is using the space for your portraits! The architecture, brick, and florals throughout the venue are BEYOND breathtaking. The front steps created the perfect backdrop for fun wedding party portraits, then we headed around the venue and used the arches, greenery, and doorways to capture the love these two have for each other. And OF COURSE we played with that gorgeous veil for a few shots at the end!

Their Timeless Wedding Reception in the DeKoven Center

After portraits, it was time to party! The simply elegant tables and décor added to the timeless ambiance, and the high ceilings at the DeKoven Center created the perfect romantic location for their wedding reception. Heather and Brian shared a perfectly coordinated first dance and soon added all their friends and family to the mix before heading out for the evening in their “Just Married” getaway car.

What a beautiful dreamy day this was! If you’re in the Wisconsin area and on the lookout for some great wedding venues in both Kenosha and Racine, St. James Church and the DeKoven Center are such great choices - you really cannot go wrong with them! The brick and the architecture create such great backdrops for the timeless, classic elements of Heather and Brian’s wedding. I couldn’t be happier to have been a part of their day.
