I LOVED Sloan and Claire's wedding inside and out. From walking down the Lincoln Park boardwalk to their stellar outfits, and of course their amazing Chicago brewery venue for their wedding I think you can see why !
Getting Ready
Sloan and Claire got ready for their wedding day and then met up with their friends and family out at the Lincoln Park boardwalk. Once their family arrived we took all of their family portraits with the GORGEOUS backdrop of the city of Chicago. When taking photos at Lincoln Park, the boardwalk is always fair game, if you want to take photos in the honeycomb with your wedding party though you or your photographer will have to apply for a permit ahead of time.
After their family photos, Sloan, Claire, and I walked around the boardwalk together having the BEST time taking wedding portraits for their day. With Sloan and Claire only booking me about 6 weeks before their wedding day, I made sure to take some time to get to know exactly what photos they wanted out of their wedding day before I met them in person the day of.
Their Outfits
Claire opted for a purple coat and trousers while Sloan went with a white jumpsuit for their wedding day. I LOVE when couples mix up their wedding day attire to something on the less traditional side. There are so many awesome pantsuits and jumpsuit options for brides on their wedding day and I am ALL about it.

The Reception
Exit Strategy Brewing Company
After portraits, we all headed over to Exit Strategy Brewery in Chicago for their wedding reception. Exit Strategy Brewing Company was created by Chris and Katherine Valleau after Chris began brewing his own beer in 2012.
At Exit Stategy Brewery they had their signature drinks for their wedding reception with the CUTEST drinks named after their pups, the Louise and the Murphy. This is such a fun way to personalize your wedding day and incorporate some of your favorite parts of your life. It also makes for a fun poster behind your at-home bar after your wedding day is over!
Along with their signature drinks, Sloan and Claire also ordered some disposable cameras. I LOVE when clients incorporate disposable cameras or instant cameras into their reception. It makes for such fun photos of their guests from their friends' points of view. It also is a fun way to continue to relive your wedding day for months and even years to come depending on how many you incorporate! Order the cameras and place them on your wedding tables, then ask a couple of guests to carry them around throughout the night. After your wedding day is over, take one camera a month to get developed until you've developed them all!
First Dances and toasts
Sloan and Claire both had first dances that of course melted my heart as well as everyone else in attendance. Their family was just so loving and the best hype crew, they couldn't have put together a better day.
After they had their first dances and toasts with their friends and family we went outside to where the live band was playing and danced the rest of the night away. Sloan and Claire's wedding day was so special and personal to them. I LOVED being a part of their beautiful day and am SO happy for them! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
