LGBTQ+ Wedding at The Ivy House Milwaukee | Kelly + Michele

One of my favorite wedding venues in all of Milwaukee is The Ivy House, and this LGBTQ+ wedding day only solidified these feelings further. As a wedding photographer I hold a special spot in my heart for venues that are inclusive and allow couples to celebrate their love in a way that’s authentic to them. That’s exactly what Kelly and Michele were able to experience at The Ivy House, and I am just SO happy to have been a part of it and that I get to share the highlights here with you !

The Start of Their LGBTQ+ Wedding in Milwaukee

Both Kelly and Michele had a simple and lovely start to their wedding day. When I arrived at The Ivy House they were each in the final stages of getting ready with their loved ones. We had some first looks lined up soon after, so the excitement levels were high for everyone ! Both Kelly and Michele had first looks with both of their parents first. With the gorgeous, ivy-covered brick walls of The Ivy House as the backdrop, both Kelly and Michele’s parents were all overcome with joy when they saw them each in their wedding dress for the first time. It was SUCH a sweet moment, and we had one more lined up before the ceremony!

Kelly and Michele also chose to have a first look prior to their ceremony, and it was such a beautiful moment for these two. This also meant that we were able to knock out almost ALL of their portrait photos prior to the start of their ceremony ! With couples portraits, wedding party portraits, and family portraits all out of the way Kelly and Michele were then able to fully enjoy every moment of their LGBTQ+ wedding in Milwaukee !

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at The Ivy House Milwaukee

One of The Ivy House’s best features is the Fernweh, or the outdoor patio garden of the venue. This space is a fantastic option for an outdoor ceremony, and was the perfect setting for Kelly and Michele’s as they were looking for some forest fairy vibes for their day. With friends and family all around, the lush green backdrop of the Fernweh, and a perfect late summer day to enjoy, all the stars aligned for an unforgettable wedding ceremony. Soon Kelly and Michele were officially newlyweds which meant it was time to party !

Celebrating Their LGBTQ+ Wedding in The Ivy House Milwaukee

With portraits already taken care of, Kelly and Michele were able to take part in their cocktail hour which was SO much fun for them. The Fernweh of The Ivy House has a dedicated bar space which made this part of their day flow so smoothly. Once it was time for the reception of their LGBTQ+ wedding in Milwaukee to begin, we all made our way inside The Ivy House to continue the evening’s festivities. With a lovely first dance between Kelly and Michele to kick things off, their reception was a perfect celebration of the love that brought everyone here today. Complete with a donut wall, wonderful toasts from their loved ones, and a night of endless dancing and good times, Kelly and Michele’s wedding day was everything they dreamt it would be !

I’m so glad to have been a part of Kelly and Michele’s LGBTQ+ wedding day in Milwaukee. From the incredible venue choice of The Ivy House, to how they made sure to find time for those they love in their day, everything felt so perfect.
