Dreamy Highland Loft Wedding | Jackie + Brian

Jackie and Brian had THE most incredible wedding day at the Highland Loft in Elgin. Their wedding had so much love and laughter that I found myself smiling throughout the entire day ! Jackie and Brian made sure to incorporate some details throughout their wedding day to really make it special to them which I LOVED. They have two cats, Lola and Goose, which they were able to include in their wedding through drinks at the bar named after them, cookies made by the extremely talented A Little Bit of Sugar, and they even topped their cake with a silhouette of themselves with their two cats around them. These little details add a LOT to a wedding day and I’m so happy Jackie and Brian were able to include them in theirs !

Getting Ready

Jackie and Brian spent the start of their wedding day getting ready separately in the Highland Loft’s getting ready spaces. Brian and his crew got ready together and were a total RIOT, they all clearly love each other and were having the best time together. A couple of Brian’s groomsmen, Mark and Derek, even wore custom fanny packs with flowers in them as they were the designated “flower men” which was a hilarious little touch. Jackie got ready with some of her closest friends and family and everyone was SO excited to see her in her wedding dress ! Once they were dressed ready it was time for some first looks.

First Looks and Portraits

We pulled a little prank on Brian and had one of his groomsmen Mark hop in a wedding dress for a fake first look. Everyone was dying laughing and this was such a fun moment of their day ! After that though it was time for the real first look with Jackie which was SO sweet. I love first looks for my couples since there’s so much emotion and excitement leading up to it that all bursts out during the first look ! We then spent some time getting some wedding portraits in and around Highland Lofts followed by some group photos with the wedding parties before their ceremony started.

Ceremony and Reception

The ceremony space at Highland Loft was decorated beautifully for Jackie and Brian’s wedding. With string lights on the ceiling, lanterns lining the aisle and a beautiful floral circle as the backdrop for the two, the space was truly gorgeous. They kept their ceremony short and sweet and once it was finished it was time to get their reception under way ! The reception started with some grand entrances before Jackie and Brian made their way in to cut their cake and share their first dance together. After some food and some wonderful speeches from friends and family it was time to hit the dance floor to send off their wedding day ! Before the night was over though Jackie Brian and I snuck outside to get some photos of them as the sun set which turned out absolutely incredible.
