While it might not be the first place that comes to mind, make no mistake southern Wisconsin is home to some of the best wedding venues around. Wisconsin has an extremely diverse landscape throughout the state and has something to offer everyone. From gorgeous vineyards and rural farmland to some of the coolest urban venues, the Midwest has to offer. With my plans to move to Kenosha later this year in full swing, I have been doing ALL the research on so many cool Wisconsin wedding venues and I cannot WAIT to share them with you !
In this post, I’ve put together this list of my favorite 10 wedding venues in Wisconsin just to give you a glimpse of what this beautiful state has to offer !
Why Get Married in Wisconsin
First things first though, let's start with the basics, why get married in Wisconsin? Whether you're living in Wisconsin or just looking for a little bit of a different feel than what Chicago has to offer Wisconsin is SUCH a great place to plan a wedding. From the historical buildings in Milwaukee to the barns in Salem, there are plenty of options for every couple.
Central and southern Wisconsin is FULL with so many cool small towns, and even some bigger cities that are super underrated.
From Milwaukee to Burlington to my soon-to-be home Kenosha, there is so much charm and character in each of these cities that you're going to love. Wisconsin cities keep a touch of an old small-town feel. Without the insane hustle and bustle of larger cities like Chicago, you're able to get the best of both worlds.
If the city or an urban-style wedding isn't really you're thing, opt for one of the many barn wedding venues throughout Wisconsin. Perfect for larger gatherings many of these Wisconsin wedding venues have so many unique features and are perfect for a larger wedding.
What to Look for When Choosing Your Wisconsin Wedding Venue
There are a number of things to look for when choosing your wedding venue. To start, you're going to want to choose a venue that fits your vision for your wedding day. Do you plan to get married in a church? Do you want to travel at all on your wedding day? How many people do you hope to celebrate with you? What is your budget for your venue and what will that include? These are all questions you and your partner will need to ask yourselves as you begin the planning process.
After you have some parameters set, you and your partner can begin to look through wedding venues and begin to save the ones you love. As you're looking at the venues look for the following things before you inquire:
Do I like the way this venue looks?
Can this venue host my entire guest list?
Pricing on the days/months you hope to have your wedding
What is included in each package
After you've looked through the basics, book a tour and get to planning! Here are my top 10 favorite Wisconsin wedding venues.
