This Chicago engagement session may be my favorite session I have ever captured. I am SO excited to share these photos with you. Christina and Pawlos contacted me about their engagement session with a plan in mind. These two wanted to have their session at the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago. Let me just say this was the absolute coolest location for an engagement session !
Every session that I plan with my couples is a collaboration from start to finish. From deciding on a location, to your outfits, to what we do at your session is something that we will plan together. I LOVE my couples, I love their stories, their backgrounds, and their interests. When couples approach me to document this time in their lives I make sure we work together to create a really cool experience.
Engagement Photos at the Chicago Surgical Museum
This session was very different from past Chicago engagement sessions. Working in a museum with such a beautiful interior there were so many rooms to explore and create in. Working in the museum was very different from past sessions making it such a cool experience. Pulling inspiration from the decorations, the symmetry, and the statues in the rooms, the three of us were able to make some serious magic. We wandered around the museum using the furniture, backgrounds and interiors to create some amazing photos !
The Outfits
When using backgrounds like those inside of the Surgical Museum, I love to plan outfits based on the scenery. With so much going on in the background an outfit that might normally be distracting from the subjects instead draws in the viewer and highlights the couple, similar to a wedding dress. We even added some color for Christina's second outfit. Christina's dress, which was handmade in Europe during a visit there, was absolutely stunning. The pink made the two lovers pop amongst the neutral tones in the building. I absolutely LOVE the outfits that Christina and Pawlos chose for their engagement session.
Planning Together
When you inquire on my website we take some time to get to know one another. I follow you on socials, and as we begin the planning process we work together to plan every little detail. If you have a vision in mind prior to the session I love to here it ! If you don't have something specific in mind we will do some brainstorming together. For Christina and Pawlos's session, they approached me with the Chicago Surgical Museum in mind. I love when couples come to me with a vision for their session and when we can work together to create something cool.
